Soundproofing Basics
Before Applying Self-adhesive products
1. Thoroughly clean the applying surface from dust and grease. Use thinners or alcohol-based cleaners. Do not use white spirits or similar products that leave oily residue behind.
2. Cut mats to size.
3. Peel off the protection tape.
4. Firmly press down the material onto the prepared surface.
When applying sound deadening mats
1. The operating temperature must be at least +16 to +18 degrees Celsius. Use a hairdryer or a heat gun to heat up the mats for easier application.
2. Take extra care when working with sound deadening mats. The sharp edges can cause cuts.
3. The product must be firmly pressed down during assembly, to ensure it adheres perfectly without creating a space with air bubbles.
4. Use a roller for effective application.
when applying ST-mat
1. The self-adhesive material is very sticky and once applied to the surface, it cannot be removed without damaging it.
2. Before applying the material to the surface, cut out the shape you need, peal off one corner, stick it down and only then slowly peal the rest of the protection tape.
